The Proceedings includes research from the symposium held at the Conference of Metallurgy & Materials. The contributions assembled in these proceedings reflect ongoing efforts of researchers and practitioners to better understand the mechanisms of corrosion and environmental degradation, develop advanced characterization and monitoring techniques, and design materials and mitigation strategies capable of performing in increasingly demanding service environments.  The papers featured in this volume highlight contemporary research in the field, spanning fundamental investigations of degradation processes, environmentally assisted damage mechanisms, protective coatings and surface treatments, materials selection, corrosion testing methodologies, and emerging approaches to durability assessment and asset management.
