Beschreibung
This book offers a review of military interoperability, including its relationship with the concept of jointness. The author presents a different take on military innovation, one that focuses on military doctrine rather than on the incorporation of new weapons and technologies. The case-studies focus on the installment of the Combatant Commands (US), the Permanent Joint Headquarters (UK) and the Canada Joint Operations Command (Canada), while offfering a unique insider’s view of Brazilian military doctrine, including a first-of-its-kind analysis of the Brazilian Aerospace Command (COMAE). The research yields practical implications for defense policy, allowing for an educated debate on the organization of a country’s armed forces.
