Beschreibung

This volume provides a comprehensive overview of how anti-corruption policy can serve as an effective and essential intervention for promoting gender equality. Multidisciplinary in approach and bringing together established and emerging leaders in the field of corruption studies, it examines how corruption affects women’s empowerment and gender equality, the ways in which it exacerbates the risks faced by women, and the anti-corruption reforms needed to address these harms. In doing so, the book significantly enhances our understanding of the multifaceted nature of corruption and underscores the imperative for inclusive, gender-sensitive and comprehensive anti-corruption strategies. It will appeal to all those interested in public policy, gender studies, economics and corruption, as well as practitioners and policymakers.

Robert Gillanders is Kemmy Professor of Economics at the University of Limerick, Ireland, and an Honorary Professor at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand for the 2026/27 academic year.
