Beschreibung

This book examines public administration in Argentina. Bringing together leading scholars from across the country and beyond, it provides key recommendations for improving public sector effectiveness, strengthening strategic capacities, and fostering more responsive and inclusive governance. The book also aims to reinsert Argentina into global debates around public management, civil service reform, and administrative capacity. At a time when public administration in Argentina is currently "under siege" due to radical austerity, it provides important insights into broader international debates on democratic backsliding, policy dismantling, and the rise of the new right. In doing so, the book offers important insights for academics examining public administration in turbulent and contested political environments, as well as policymakers, civil servants, and practitioners.

Nelson Cardozo is Professor at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa and Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is co-chair of the Comparative Public Policy Research Committee of the Latin American Association of Political Science (ALACIP).

Pablo Bulcourf is Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Quilmes and the Universidad de Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a consultant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
