Jennifer Carlson is Visiting Professor of Emergency Management at Nichols College, USA. She is an emergency management scholar, educator, and practitioner with more than twenty years of experience in disaster leadership, higher education, and public service. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM®), her operational experience includes leadership roles during Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, the Boston Marathon response, and other major disasters. Her research examines the professionalization of emergency management, leadership, emergency management education, credentialing, and workforce development.
