Beschreibung

Addressing an important gap in the literature, this book is an extremely concrete and practical A-Z guide about how to design, undertake and communicate the results of a mixed methods approach to critical discourse analysis (MMCDA) in the social sciences. Offering detailed discussions of the processes used, lessons learned, and research outcomes of 3 award-winning MMCDA research projects in political studies and international relations (as well as reflections about the potential considerations around the use of AI in MMCDA research), the goal of this book is to give readers everything they require to undertake successful MMCDA projects on their own topics of research. Paul Saurette is a full professor at the School of Political Studies, University of Ottawa, Canada, where he teaches and researches a wide variety of topics including MMCDA, ideology, rhetoric, political communication, conservative movements, the anti-abortion movement, international relations, public law, political ethics, and political philosophy more generally.  Matthieu Grandpierron is an associate professor of international relations and head of the political science department at ICES, France, where he teaches and researches on a wide variety of topics in international relations and strategic studies.  Robert Marinov is a Ph.D. candidate in Communication Studies at Concordia University, Canada. He also holds a BA and MA in Political Science from the University of Ottawa, where his MA thesis was awarded the Graduate Studies Thesis Prize for the best thesis in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Kelly Gordon< is an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at McGill University, Canada, where she teaches a wide variety of topics including qualitative methods, feminist theory, gender and politics, conservative movements, and Canadian politics.
