The authors’ motivation is to offer a comprehensive account of the forms and transformations of collective identities among Germans in Bohemia, focusing above all on how these identities were shaped and articulated by the leading political forces of the period. At the same time, the book seeks to reconstruct the German political landscape in Bohemia — a field that has so far received little systematic attention in historical scholarship.
About the Author
Milan Řepa has long been engaged in research on the phenomena of nationalization and politicization, while Pavel Cibulka has offered a comprehensive account of the development of German political parties in Moravia.
