Rich colourful landscape scenes quickly change to sparse vegetation of the rugged mountain chains and wonderful crystal clear beaches change places with steep craggy rocks. Towns and little fishing villages with decorative buildings in their historical town sectors offer a colourful mixture of architecture, which goes back to the many cultures up to the year 3000 BC. Untouched landscape is just as much a part of Majorca as the beach areas crowded with tourists. The simple life inland is in stark contrast to the noble living areas, as are the ancient markets landing the countryside to the noble shopping centres of Palma. Modern yachting harbours with luxury boats are not far away from the little fishing ports with their old craggy boats.
In this volume Werner Weiler has captured the flair of the Balearic island of Majorca with its many faces quite outstandingly.
