Bikepacking in the Lake District

Eight challenging rides of 2–5 days in the Lake District, suitable for mountain bikes (some routes can also be completed on a gravel bike), including the Lakeland 200. All are accessible by public transport and showcase the best of Lakeland's roads, tracks, lanes and bridleways.

• Clear route description, planning tables and elevation profiles
• Routes graded from Moderate to Very Hard – although all involve sections where you are likely to have to push or carry your bike
• Plentiful accommodation, although (wild) camping is also an option
• Accommodation listings, bike shops and suggested kit list
• Iconic road climbs such as Hardknott, Wrynose, Whinlatter and Honister; off-road passes including Sticks Pass, Stake Pass and Black Sail; and England's highest bridleway over Helvellyn
