Beschreibung

The scope of neuropathology continues to expand, as evidenced by increasing numbers of multivolume and specialty texts, which have been published in recent years. For those in the neuroscience disciplines, the ever increasing amount of information one needs to assimilate and master can be challenging and even at times daunting. As with the first edition, this second edition of Neuropathology Review summarizes, in outline form, the essentials of neuropathology. The objective is twofold: 1) to provide an overview of neuropathology for those initially encountering the discipline and, 2) to provide a framework for review for those preparing for in-service and board examinations in the disciplines of neurology, neurosurgery and pathology, which require some knowledge of neuropathology.
The volume is conveniently divided into three sections. The first part presents, in outline form, basic updated information on the spectrum of neurologic-related disease. The second part presents pertinent pictoral examples of a spectrum of neuropathologic conditions in a question format with answers and brief explanation provided. The final section includes a series of written questions with provided answers and explanations in order to review the material presented in the first section of the text. New questions have been added to the bank of questions previously published in the first addition. Comprehensive and timely, Neuropathology Review is an essential reference for neuropathology residents and fellows, pathology residents, neurology residents, and medical library students.

The scope of neuropathology continues to expand and the ever-increasing amount of information to assimilate and master can be daunting. The second edition of Neuropathology Review summarizes, in simple outline form, the essentials of neuropathology. Coverage has been updated to reflect the newest information and ideas, and includes many new questions and answers.

From the reviews of the second edition:"This is the second edition of a book originally published by the same author in 2001. … is intended to summarize, in outline forms, the essentials of the neuropathology discipline. The target audience is residents in training in pathology, neurology, and neurosurgery who require some knowledge of neuropathology for self-assessment and for board preparations. … Here, all images … are in color and of good quality and presented with the corresponding questions." (M. Beatriz S. Lopes, Journal of Neurosurgery, Vol. 109, September, 2008)"The book is ‘written’ with bullet points throughout … . for a sectional library it would be a reasonable purchase to emphasize the pathologic correlates of what we encounter on a daily basis." (American Journal of Neuroradiology, Vol. 29, November-December, 2008)
