Language and the Life Course

How do the languages that individuals learn influence the courses that their lives take? How do individuals' life courses affect which languages they learn and use? This book investigates these questions by analyzing qualitative data collected among multilingual populations at different life stages: young adult foreign language students; middle-aged bilingual couples; and transnational women in later life.
