This book addresses the issues of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF) speaker’s identity construction and its link to pragmatic language use through ELF communication. Based on qualitative interpretive research, the author shows how ELF speakers construct identities grounded in their lived and localized experiences in ELF communication, and how expression of identity is reflected through their choices of pragmatic language use in ELF.
