In the last 20 years, the need for a financial expert to act as awitness and consultant to litigating attorneys has grown even morethan litigation itself. Twenty years ago, few certifiedpublic accountants or economists offered litigation-relatedservices; now, a large number devote much of their practice to thisarea. To be litigation service practitionersand accountants need to learn or enhance their litigationskills, including the fine points of their roles in trialpreparation and testimony presentation, testimonypresentation, deposition, direct examination, crossexamination, understanding Sarbanes-Oxley rulings, and fraudinvestigations.
