In recent years, two separate yet related trends have emerged in economics education throughout many countries in Europe. There has been a general decline in the mathematical ability of students entering university and, at the same time, more students, in the UK in particular, are opting to study joint honors degree programs (i.e. economics and business) rather than single honors economics. Analysis of Economic Data has been written to address the needs of the growing market of mathematically weak students who are studying joint honors progams.
