Since its inception, this text has been designed to aid the preservice and inservice teacher in understanding mathematical concepts and relationships commonly found in elementary and middle school programs. It assists the teacher in presenting these concepts to students, emphasizing connections between how a concept is introduced and how the concept is expanded and reinforced as the child's mathematical maturity develops.
